4) Bundle loose items. The more trips that movers have to make in to your apartment, the longer it will take. Moves are mostly walking / dollying items. Think about the time it takes to walk 10km (while carrying things). Taping together mops, brooms, curtain rods, bed slats, etc. can save quite a bit of time.
5) If moving from one apartment to another with an elevator, stagger your elevator times. Do not book your elevator at the new building for the same time as the elevator at your current building. It often takes 1.5 to 4 hours, plus travel time, to move from one building to another (based on the amount of items being moved). Most people need 2 to 3 hours at the load up and about 50 to 100% of the load up time to unload if moving in to a house or another building with an elevator.
